MS. CLAUDIA BRINK, Health Policy Analyst on the research faculty of the Workshop in Political Theory and Policy Analysis at Indiana University - Bloomington

Ostrom was awarded the 2009 Nobel Prize in Economics for her contributions toward understanding the structure and sustainable functioning of common-pool resources.

These results will speak to the roots of the high levels of collaboration around healthcare, health and issues of concern to the community in general. She will also discuss their understanding of the innovative and broad reaching form of social entrepreneurship practiced in Mesa County and how that form of entrepreneurship has led to better health outcomes and lower costs. Ms. Brink will share their future research directions related to improving health behaviors among disadvantaged county residents.

Prior to becoming Health Policy Analyst, Brink was Asst. Director of the Workshop and the Coordinator of the Health and Healthcare Working Group that operated out of the Workshop. Members of this working group included: Dr. Donald Berwick, Dr. Elliott Fisher, Dr. Atul Gawande, Prof. Michael McGinnis (Political Science), Director of the Workshop and Prof. Elinor Ostrom (Political Science), Research Director.
